# Pricing (preview)

> A small per-sandbox-hour charge, plus active CPU and resident memory.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Preview pricing.** These are the rates the metering pipeline uses today. They may change before general availability, and **no payments are taken during the preview**: usage is metered and shown in the dashboard, and invoices are drafts.

| Meter | Price |
| - | - |
| Running sandbox-hour | **\$0.012** |
| Active vCPU-hour | **\$0.012** |
| Resident memory, GiB-hour | **\$0.008** |
| Snapshot storage (paused sandboxes), GB-month | \$0.03 |
| Egress, GB | \$0.12 |

The three hourly meters add up. A running sandbox pays the sandbox-hour charge
whatever it is doing, plus whatever CPU and memory it actually uses.

**Active CPU, not wall-clock.** A sandbox that waits for an LLM response uses
almost no CPU, so beyond the sandbox-hour it costs mostly its memory. A sandbox
with 2 vCPU busy at 20% is billed 0.4 vCPU-hours per hour.

**Running means sampled running**, so a quarter of an hour is a quarter of a
sandbox-hour.

**Paused costs only storage.** A paused sandbox pays no sandbox-hour, CPU or
memory charge; you pay for its snapshot until you resume or delete it.

## Examples

Per hour, for a sandbox with 2 vCPU and 4 GiB:

| Pattern | Usage | Price per hour |
| - | - | - |
| Busy (CPU-bound work) | 2 active vCPU, 4 GiB | $0.012 + $0.024 + $0.032 = **$0.068\*\* |
| Typical agent (mostly waiting) | 0.4 active vCPU, 1.5 GiB | $0.012 + $0.0048 + $0.012 = **$0.029\*\* |
| Idle-heavy | almost no CPU, little memory resident | about **\$0.014** |
| Paused | snapshot only | **\$0.03 per GB-month** |

The free plan has the same rates with \$5 of included credit and the
[free plan limits](https://docs.anonalabs.com/compute/concepts/limits.md). The credential vault is included at no
charge.

See [Usage and billing](https://docs.anonalabs.com/compute/usage-and-billing.md) for where to see what you used: the
dashboard, `anona-compute usage`, or `GET /v1/usage`.
